We get on the BikeRadar Live at Brands Hatch!

Tue 06th, Jul

Cyclopark, Kent’s up and coming, exciting activity place, is participating in BikeRadar Live 2010, the UK’s ultimate bike festival which will take place on the weekend of the 10th and 11th July at Brands Hatch in Kent. A weekend celebration of all things cycling, a total of 8,500 riders and their families came to the inaugural event in 2009. 2010’s event promises to be even better with a fantastic new venue, more riders, more professionals, more features and more races!

It comes as no surprise then, that Cyclopark is involved in such a key event in the biking calendar. The aim of the innovative park is to bring first class cycling, running and extreme sports facilities to North Kent and be one of the leading multi sport centres in the south of England. When completed in 2012, Cyclopark will offer an exciting range of activities for everyone from the enthusiastic beginner right up to the seasoned professional.

The project team decided that BikeRadar Live 2010 will provide the perfect opportunity to spread the word about Cyclopark. They will be manning a stand to provide visual displays of design plans, as well as information about Cyclopark and cycling in Kent generally.

Cyclopark is managed by Kent County Council and the project forms part of the Kent Thameside Regeneration Partnership (KTRP). This public private partnership supports and champions the regeneration of Kent Thameside, a hub for innovation and one of the fastest growing areas in the UK covering the boroughs of Dartford and Gravesham and Ebbsfleet Valley. With a commitment to provide 25,000 new homes and 50,000 new jobs over the next two decades, KTRP will make Kent Thameside a distinct and vibrant destination.

Laurence Tricker, Cyclopark’s project manager, says; “Cyclopark is a unique and really exciting project and it fits perfectly within the massive regeneration of Kent Thameside. It will not only be a centre of excellence for the cycling world, but also a ‘must see’ for visitors to North Kent. In 2009, BikeRadar Live proved itself as one of the best cycling festivals in the UK and there is therefore no better place for us to showcase Cyclopark.”
